Mark Pearson's Team Update - September 2012

Mark Pearson’s Mississippi/North Carolina team arrived on the first day of September without their team leader who was unable to accompany them this year. To honor their "capitan," the team sketched a likeness of Mark on a piece of cardboard and carried ‘flat Mark’ to the village of Campuca, Lempira and everywhere the team went. One day, the team and staff were surprised and touched when a teacher walked with his students for over 2 hours from another school to attend the medical clinics. Medical home visits were made by several team members and translators who delivered medicine along with blankets and Bibles for the families. The illnesses included cancer, tuberculosis and crippling arthritis. In return, the thankful families presented them with fresh fruit. On Friday, the shopping day, six members chose to witness to the inmates in the El Progresso prison. Team members agreed to let ‘flat Mark’ go to the mall instead of prison.
